CHS Expands Seed Treatment Capabilities with New Washington Blender

February 16, 2026
Agribusiness cooperative CHS has invested in a new seed treatment blender at its Rockford, Washington, facility to expand seed treatment capabilities in the Pacific Northwest.

ROCKFORD, WA — Feb. 16, 2026 — CHS has completed an investment in a new seed treatment blender at its Rockford, Washington, facility, expanding custom seed treatment capacities throughout the Pacific Northwest.

The project is the fifth seed treatment blender integrated into the CHS STI (seed treatment inoculant) Customized blending service since the program's inception in 2011.

Customized Blending Capabilities
The new Rockford installation enables CHS to manufacture and distribute tailored seed treatment blends for:

  • Cereal Crops: Traditional wheat and barley production systems across the region.
  • Specialty Markets: Specialty and large-seeded vegetable crops.
  • Agronomic Pressures: Tailored formulas targeting regional early-season fungal diseases, insects, and seedling vigor challenges common to Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana.

"Seed treatment is one of the most effective tools growers have to protect yield potential before the crop even emerges," said Blake Murnan, Director of Seed Applied Technologies at CHS. "This investment brings greater flexibility, precision, and value to our customers in a region where customized crop solutions matter."

By expanding the blending service at Rockford, CHS expects to improve supply chain turnaround times and distribution reliability for local retail locations and wholesale agricultural buyers.
